Erin, I really really hope you can make it here in March! Melanie: She does provide a "commodity", idiot. There's a cafepress store, the raffles for the original print every month, and she sells her original signed artwork on e-bay every so often (like a smart businesswoman, keeping supply down). As if creating art weekly for her slaveringly devoted fans isn't enough. You know, being an artist is a job. Erin, out of the goodness of her heart, doesn't charge a subscription to view the comics like some webcomic artists do. Fact-check before you voice your uneducated opinion. Personally, I find having an artist ask for patronage (see Michelangelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, et al for background) from the people who benefit from her work is a lot less offensive than becoming a merchandise whore instead. But then, commodification of art is what Americans have been taught to expect by our disposable plastic culture. Cow.

What a delightful comic! I really need to link to this site as soon as I get off my lazy ass and start updating our links page again. /(>v<) Love the characters, love the style, and stayed up WAY too late two nights in a row to finish the archives. Beautiful work and lovely character development. /(^v^) Viva le Venus Envy.

Been reading the comic for about two months and I decided I would sign the guest book. I'm a big fan, and check regularly for updates. A have a very close TG friend who showed me this, and I thought I would read it to try and get a better understanding of his life. It gave me a lot more respect for him being himself(herself), as well as gave me something satisfying to read. Great Job, Erin!

I only came across this comic strip in the last two days. It is both the funniest and most poignant strip I've ever read. I've bookmarked the page and am looking forward to more.

catandgirl.com homestarrunner.com makingfiends.com Here are three people who make a living on their art, through actual commerce. It is this artist’s sense of entitlement that really bothers me.

Although I find your comic very entertaining, I am constantly amazed by how far you stick your hand out. Why don't you offer t-shirts, or some such commodity for people to actually buy, instead of this shameless money grubbing nonsense? If you want to make money at your art, do it by means of legitimate business. Have some pride. And run your grammar and spell check every now and then while you’re at it.
